Old Town Engagement in Alexandria, Virginia

j

Where does the time go? Summer came and went… and fall is right around the corner! What better way to head into this season than with a throwback to this engagement session for Alex and Mitchell!

I LOVE autumn. Cozy knit sweaters, leather jackets, crisp air, warm coffee—it’s the sweetest time of year. Fall photoshoots are always my pleasure and they’re so fun.

We started Alex and Mitchell’s session strolling down a street in their neighborhood, lined with green and orange trees. The cold air gave Alex a chance to wear a couple looks, including her red scarf that she knit herself! Mitchell also sported a second look—from a gray suit jacket to a comfy pale gray sweater. Also, a moment for Alex’s super cute buckled boots? There’s no better time a year for the sweaters and boots combo than fall!

Old Town Alexandria in Virginia is one of my favorite cozy spots for engagement sessions. Old Town has historical brick buildings, pretty views of the Potomac, and cute alleyways to sneak away in.

After exploring the waterfront and snapping photos of Mitchell dipping Alex in one of those quiet alleys, we headed to a park area where the two of them sat close on a bench and engaged in a favorite pastime… Alex knitting while Mitchell holds the yarn! We love a supportive fiancé. I set her gorgeous diamond engagement ring atop her project for a detail shot. As a knitter myself I loved this personal touch.

Our session came to an end in the plaza in front of Old Town City Hall. Alex and Mitchell danced in front of the big fountain, embraced each other, and held hands.

Thank you again to Alex and Mitchell for letting me capture this chapter. Their wedding is just a couple weeks away, and I know it’s going to be beautiful.

It’s engagement season – if you’re looking to book a session with me, do it soon! You can get in contact with me here.
