Intimate Washington DC Wedding Party

Lauren and Will had a sweet and intimate weekend “Wedding Party” with their wedding party, at a private residence in Washington DC.

While this lovely couple had other plans originally for their wedding, due to COVID, they had to switch up the plans to tie the knot with a smaller ceremony. Many months later, they were finally able to have a vibrant gathering with their closest friends – the original wedding party!

Lauren’s white v-cut dress had white pearl-like jewels decorating it while Will wore a classic black and white tuxedo with a black bow tie. To coordinate with her dress, Lauren wore pearl earrings and other gold jewelry, and the thoughtfully curated details included gold touches like a custom monogrammed ring box. The decor had an overall bright, light, elegant feel to compliment their original DC nuptials.

The party called for the cutest details like pink heels with butterflies on the backs, pink peonies, white flowers, and blue stationery from my talented DC stationer friend Nika Smernoff, of Calligraphette Co.! There were also darker themed details such as a black painted champagne bottle for the couple and a dark brown wooden ring box. Another detail to die for… cute little cream puffs that even had pearl sprinkles on top! Every little detail was spotted!

I was able to capture such sweet pictures of not only Lauren and Will, but also their friends that attended. Even in the winter, the historical home featured serene settings for portraits, most notably an epic wall of deep green magnolia trees. The romantic overhanging trees almost makes the scene look like a fairytale! My favorite photographs are of Lauren, Will, and their friends letting lose and striking some fun poses. I even caught the men putting on a make-shift jousting show!

This day was so much fun to capture! It was elegant, fun, gorgeous, and sweet all in one.
